BUSINESS AT THE DEPOT
Your team has been on video calls for two years. They're tired of hotel ballrooms, boxed lunches, and forgetting the event happened by Monday morning.
The Billings Depot is where it all changes.
A 115-year-old building in the heart of downtown Billings — flexible enough for a board meeting, memorable enough to become the event people actually talk about. Multiple indoor and outdoor spaces. Open catering so you control costs. A dedicated event host to help you manage logistics. And a walkable district that turns your coffee break into a brewery tour, your lunch into a food truck, and your evening reception into a comedy show.
This is what it looks like when a meeting becomes an experience.
Why It Has to Be In Person You can't build trust over video. You can't read a room through a screen. And no one has ever left a Zoom call saying 'that changed how I think about this company.'
The research is clear: face-to-face interaction creates the kind of alignment, trust, and creative momentum that online work simply can't replicate. The Depot gives your team a reason to be in the same room — and a space worthy of the reason.
Your Reservation Includes:
- Tables, chairs, and podium
- Room setup and breakdown
- Use of the catering kitchen and conference room
- Private event host to assist with day-of logistics
Accessibility & Sensory Sensitivity
All buildings on the Depot campus are fully ADA compliant with accessible parking, venue layouts, restrooms, seating, oversized doors and hallways, and ramp access. Floorplans and seating arrangements can also be designed to accommodate individuals with disabilities.
We are also a Certified Autism Center with 100% of staff certified to assist guests with sensory sensitivities. Our event space is equipped with quiet areas and sensory kits for children.
Food & Beverage
Most hotel venues require in-house catering. That's their revenue center — not your advantage. At the Depot, you bring your own caterer, self-cater, or bring in a food truck. For a 100-person event, that flexibility can mean thousands of dollars in savings. Your CFO will notice.
Our catering kitchen in the main building is available for use at no additional cost.
We offer bar service from two different vendors allowing you to create custom drinks, unique beverage stations, and locally sourced items to personalize your event.
Technology
Our campus has recently been upgraded to high-speed fiber technology. We provide Wi-fi throughout the campus with speeds suitable for live streaming capabilities. The Passenger Station has a built-in Bose sound system equipped with wireless hand-held and lapel mics, and an auxiliary cable to attach a phone or mp3 player. The Baggage Room offers a six-zone sound system with Bluetooth capabilities wireless handheld and lapel mics. The Post offers a mobile sound system with handheld microphone.
The Depot also works closely with DiA Events to provide you with access to the best in technology from live streaming, special effects, large screen monitors, AV equipment, and everything in between.
Experiential & Immersive Events
Today's event design is teeming with creative ideas that wow attendees, giving them what they want: immersion, interaction, and personalization. The Depot can help connect event planners with vendors who provide unique experiences and gamified elements such as DJs, hat bars, scavenger hunts, comedy sets, historic tours, mixologists, unique gifts/party favors, etc.
The Depot campus also features a historic walking tour with over 40 different panels each describing a historic event that took place in our city's history. Guests are able to enjoy this self-guided tour at any point during their time on campus.
Walkability & Parking
The Depot campus is less than 3 miles from Billings Logan International Airport and in walking distance of 3 hotel properties. If guests arrive in a vehicle, we have one private parking lot on campus as well as multiple loading zones which can accommodate specialty transportation such as busses, limos, carriages, etc.
The Depot is located in the heart of the historic Montana Avenue district of downtown. This district features breweries, art galleries, live music venues, and multiple bar and restaurant options, all within a few steps of the Depot campus.
Pet Friendly Campus
The Billings Depot is pet friendly. We welcome pets and service animals in our event spaces and offer use of our green space at the east end of our campus. For safety, we require pets to be on a leash at all times and ask that they remain out of any areas on campus designated for food and beverage.
