Get ready, because the Polar Express is almost here!
Once again, the fabulous story of the “Polar Express” is coming to life in the Historic Billings Depot, December 5th and 6th, 2015! You and your children will be dazzled by both the story, told in a children’s theater production, along with a “magical” visit from Santa!
This historic train station will be transformed into a winter wonderland where dozens of children in footie jammies will snuggle in on a fuzzy red rug surrounding the stage, where a children’s theatrical production will enthrall everyone with the wonderful story of Jimmy and the gang in the Polar Express. At just the right moment, a magical sound and light show heralds the arrival of Santa on a “magical train” bound for the North Pole! Santa will come in and delight the kids with some Christmas carols, before sitting down to spend time visiting and having professional photos taken with each child, courtesy of Jeff Hosa Photography. Each child will receive a 20th Anniversary Polar Express Hardback book from Santa, valued at $19.95, along with a digital copy of the professional photo, posted online. To keep everyone entertained while they are waiting for Santa, we have also added lots of other fun activities, such as elf dancing, cookie decorating, a silly photo booth, and ornament making! Dessert Pizza and hot chocolate will be served for both parents and children.
If my plans change or I want to attend a different showtime, are my tickets exchangeable/refundable?
Due to the ticketing company’s cost to change or refund tickets, we are NOT able to change ticket show times or issue refunds. (The cost to change is more than the cost of the ticket.) We apologize for any inconvenience.
What is the appropriate attire for the event?
Most children will come dressed in cute pajamas for their photo with Santa, but it is up to each parent’s discretion. Some children always come dressed up, while others will come in regular school clothes. There is no dress code, but the pajamas are adorable!
What time do the doors open?
The doors will be opened 30 minutes before each showtime.
Does my infant need a ticket to enter?
Yes. Due to fire codes limiting the total number of people we can allow in the building, all children, no matter what age, count towards the total room capacity, and are thus required to have a ticket to enter.
What ages are appropriate for this event?
The Polar Express event was designed for children approximately 3-8 years old; some younger children will still be able to enjoy the show, so we ask for you to use your own discretion. During the first part of the show, children sit on a large rug surrounding the stage, while the parents sit in chairs along the perimeter. Please note that due to space constraints, parents are not able to sit on the floor with the children, so children should be old enough to sit independently from the parents for 30+ minutes during the show, or simply be held in their parents lap during the performance. Important note: Due to fire codes limiting our total number of people we can allow in the building, all children, including infants, count towards the total room capacity, and are thus required to have a ticket to enter. If you believe some of your children are too young to enjoy or participate in this event, our best recommendation is to plan on making arrangements for child care for the youngest kids so that you do not have to buy the extra tickets; alternately, if the children are still too young to sit on their own, but you believe they would enjoy the event, families may purchase a ticket and have the child sit in your lap in the parents section.
